You said it very well. There has to be a balance, in art, and in ourselves, of seeing our flaws, admitting our own feelings, and seeing how we can change to accept and understand others better. Admitting our feelings and being vulnerable has to be coupled with a desire to grow and change and see other’s perspectives or is rather useless.

I think understanding how we judge others is part of growing up. The better we understand that, the more we see our bias, the more we can step aside and listen to others and see other perspectives. It is a hard journey, and our first feelings and reactions are rarely right. I think writing that journey down helps us (me) see my flaws and mistakes better.
